About Ben Harshyne
Ben Harshyne is an accomplished Agent and Land Specialist with deep knowledge of the land real estate market across southeast Iowa and the Iowa City corridor. He’s annually earned the Realtors Land Institute Apex Award since 2020 as a top sales producer, nationwide.
Ben leads The Southeast Iowa Land Team along with Hersh Smith and Rich Baugh, who is our Iowa broker and one of the original Whitetail Properties Land Specialists. Together, they have over 28 years of experience in land sales; helping many sellers and buyers across the great state of Iowa. The team strives to offer the region’s first-in-class real estate service—which is built on the foundation of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.
Prior to his career with Whitetail Properties Real Estate, Ben founded the custom land mapping company HUNTERRA in 2009. His well-rounded experience in entrepreneurship, sales, and financial decisions naturally translates into seasoned guidance for real estate clients. He also worked for seven years at the National Counterterrorism Center, supporting the war on terror.
Aside from land sales, Ben is an Iowa landowner and manages three top-shelf farms in southeast Iowa; driving efforts for quality whitetail management, conservation, and farm income. He is a proud husband of his wife Kate, father to his son Jack; and enjoys starting his days at the gym.
