For finished space, I have to start with what I was immediately drawn to and that is the vaulted great room. Not only being vaulted but this room also has 15-foot sidewalls making it perfect for hanging mounts as the seller designed it for. This room itself is magnificent but what really makes it is the full floor to ceiling approx. 26-foot tall brick double-sided “Kozy Heat” fireplace. The main floor also has the newer constructed 4 season porch (2018) with full windows to oversee the property as previously stated. There is then the open kitchen/dining room area, the NW wing which has the main floor bath, utility room, and 2 bedrooms, the loft area which has another bedroom, bathroom, and open sitting area. One thing to note about the house is that both of the tall gable ends have a full length (no splicing) 2” x 8” Norway Pine shipped directly from Washington State vertical framing boards running from floor to ceiling and then 2” x 6” framing for the remainder of the home. There is a full unfinished basement under the main portion of the home which can be converted to whatever or just utilized for storage. There is also an attached 30’ x 30’ two-stall garage. The siding is LP Diamond Coat – Deluxe color and was installed new in 2018 as well as the shingles. The furnace, A/C unit, and hot water heater have also been updated since the initial build. So much more to say about the home that you just have to see. The outbuildings consist of a 16’ x 16’ woodshed, and then the approx. 54’ x 30’ shed/shop with concrete floor and approx. 30’ x 30’ of it is insulated/heated and oh, a nice outdoor dog kennel already in place.
Montevideo itself is a great community with a little bit of everything for everyone. Feel free to search up the Montevideo, MN area chamber of commerce for more details. I cut my teeth goose hunting in the Montevideo area as there weren’t any other geese in the state and I can tell you that the overall area is a mecca of recreational activities and opportunities. Fishing on the river or Lac Qui Parle Lake and tons of public land in the area as well.
So, if you’re in the market for a very quality home to upgrade into or simply looking to relocate to a great community, why settle for just a house in town when you can have privacy and hunting right out your back door.
