This remote piece of Eastern Oregon is located approximately 25 miles east of Baker City and 20 miles west of Richland. Follow Hwy 86 along the Powder River before turning north towards the unincorporated community of Sparta. The land sits less than 10 minutes from the pavement and is approved for residential building. Power is located approximately ¾ miles to the north. A public road runs through the northern portion of the land and provides access to public lands further to the east. Two drainages are running north to south through the property, and the eastern drainage has a spring-fed pond that holds water year-round; a benefit for local wildlife or someone looking to run a few head of cattle. The perimeter is fenced with barbed wire. Mule deer are known to frequent the property, and Rocky Mountain elk can be found nearby. Great fishing can be found on the Powder River, and Richland is known as a hotspot for anglers, boating and camping. The parcel meets the minimum acreage requirements for landowner preference hunting tags, is located in the Keating hunting unit and abuts public BLM land to the south and west. Self-guided tours are "enter at your own risk". No camping or fires during tours.
