After years of hunting and scouting, I came across Bourbon County, which sits in a fertile belt on the eastern side of the state, just one hour south of Kansas City. This is an area where whitetails just simply grow big. All the right criteria are here including some of the best habitats in the entire Midwest. To drill down to another level within the county we find one of the best tracts I have ever come across, and it is 927 acres of the best of the best! It consists of a solid big deer platform. Combine higher elevation ridges covered in thick timber, with plum thickets, open fields, numerous ponds and creeks and multiple food plots, and you have the perfect mix of deer habitat. Sprinkle in some of the best genetics in the state, and you have just the right combination. Few tracts can consistently produce 200+" deer let alone have the ingredients to hold them, and this is one of those farms where the big deer just want to be. In fact, this past season there were two deer on the property that scored over 200"! What is being offered here just doesn't become available often.
