There are many great hunting properties that hit the market each year in Kansas, but very rarely is there a river bottom property like this one available in the northwest part of the state. Over the years northwest, Kansas has done everything possible to put itself on the map as one of the top whitetail hunting destinations in the entire country. Each year hunters fill their tags in this area with some of the largest whitetails in all of Kansas. The Solomon River bottom has the perfect recipe of thick timber cover, fertile soils for producing high-quality food sources, and probably the most important ingredient of all for holding deer on your property in western Kansas – water. This particular property is most easily described as the best of the best in northwest Kansas bottled up into a property with world-class hunting.

- Located 7 ½ miles west of Hill City (1 ½ mile West of Penokee). Property sits ½ mile south of Highway 24. Access from the highway is along a private road that ends at the Solomon River. This property may be viewed BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
- Nearly a ½ mile stretch of the south fork of the Solomon River flows through the property, as well as a ¼ mile of Youngs Creek along the western edge. This is one of the widest stretches of the Solomon River for miles in either direction
- This area is known for producing trophy whitetails and it’s properties like this that are the reason why. There have been multiple 170+ whitetails on this property over the years, and in 2010 there was a buck well in excess of 200” that frequented the property, as evidenced by the trail cam pic that’s provided. Any serious hunter knows it takes the right mix of food, water, and cover to produce and hold a deer of this caliber – and this property has it all
- The river bottom is uniquely characterized with thick timber cover along with a few openings on each side that offer great hunting setups along heavily traveled trails. Take your pick on where to hang a stand or place a blind, because the number of potential hunting setups is endless
- There are approximately 40 acres of tillable cropland bordering the north edge of the river. This acreage is typically planted to milo or sorghum feed by the farm tenant, which are both excellent fall hunting food sources. Some acreage could potentially be designated for planting wildlife specific food plots as well
- The property is completely landlocked providing maximum security from road traffic and even more seclusion for the wildlife. There is a recorded easement to access the property from the west
- Excellent turkey hunting. It’s not uncommon to see hundreds of turkeys in the crop fields throughout this area
- 296 miles from Denver, CO with the majority of travel along Interstate 70; 327 miles from Kansas City; 65 miles from Hays
