The Black Ash swamp is well known to hold solid numbers of deer; large bucks are taken yearly in the swamp due to how vast and gnarly it is. Accessibility on some parcels is sometimes a larger challenge than seeing deer. This parcel has a deeded easement through a field that gets you to within approximately 1/8th of a mile from the parcel once you enter the timber. A short walk down a ditch bank will take you to the southeast corner of this acreage. The acreage is a mix of cedars, soft maple and ash, with a mix of more open and heavy bedding that makes the deer feel safe. The number of deer using the parcel is evident by well-used trails and beds throughout the property. A rough access path has been cut in the past around the perimeter and with a day or two of winter, chainsaw work would be well-suited for most to get around. There is a small high spot about halfway down the west border of the property that is a favorite of the owner for bow hunting. He also has had a camera near that area in the past, which is where the deer pics in the listing are from.
